About Us

Digital Courthouse is a small company formed in 1997 and based in Huntington, West Virginia. We maintain a searchable database of property owner and assessment information within the state of West Virginia. Our database is a compilation of the Land Book Assessment information for all 55 counties within our state. Some of the information provided are the appraised land, building, and mineral values, including detailed building assessment info (CAMA data); tax maps, legal property descriptions, owner names, and addresses. We also provide some references to the most recent document used to convey the property, such as the deed book, or will book and page. The tax map boundaries are also shown on an interactive GIS-based viewer which has multiple tools and layers that traditional tax maps lack.
Our tax maps are available in Adobe PDF and TIFF formats. The tax maps were provided by the West Virginia State Tax Department and are available to the public. Most of the tax maps were generated from the mid 2000's, but we are always trying to update them when possible.
Some examples of clients that use our site include: real estate companies, appraisers, landmen, surveyors, engineers, collection agencies, law offices, government officials, abstractors, oil and gas companies, and coal companies.
